CONVENIENT LOCATION

TOP-NOTCH, STREAMLINED CARE

The number of new cancer patients treated at Winship has steadily risen over recent years and is expected to reach 17,000 this year, up from about 5,000 in 2009. So, much of the focus of this new facility is in streamlining and integrating patient care.

Patients will be able to see oncologists, undergo radiation, get blood drawn, and pick up prescriptions all under one roof—unlike now, as patients have to visit multiple locations.

“The goal is to lessen the burden of cancer in Georgia by aligning our cancer research and education with our cancer care and prevention. A building alone doesn’t do that, but it provides us an opportunity to do that more.”

COMFORT AND COMPASSION

Emory Healthcare is leading the way in research and world-class care. With new facilities like this one, we are pushing the boundaries on improving the patient experience to create a more relaxing environment that puts the patient and their family first.

The new building will have an abundance of natural light, large patient rooms to comfortably accommodate more than one family member, nurses’ stations that are closer to patients, and respite spaces, as well as a rooftop garden area.

With generous support from our philanthropic partners, Winship at Midtown builds on this tradition of innovation and excellence, and furthers Winship as a leader in research, education, and comprehensive cancer care.
